A retired military dog is to receive the PDSA Dicken Medal for saving the lives of British soldiers in Afghanistan

Kuno was severely wounded after charging through enemy gunfire, tackling a lone gunman.

His life was saved and he became the first UK military working dog to be fitted with custom made prosthetic limbs.

PDSA runs 48 animal hospitals across the country including one in Croydon.
