Councils are calling on Heathrow to abandon its bid for a third runway “once and for all.”

Authorities like Wandsworth and Richmond want bosses to concentrate instead on achieving zero carbon emissions.

The airport is due to challenge February’s Court of Appeal ruling against the expansion plan at the Supreme Court next month.

The councils say that there is no logic in the airport persisting with its “runway fantasy.”
