Kingston Council agreed the parade of shops in Coombe Road could be replaced with a number of blocks of flats and shops in 2018.
That’s despite concerns from residents about the development’s density and pressure on nearby infrastructure such as GP surgeries.
The shops have been empty ever since, with residents claiming they only found out about the demolition work when signs went up.
