It's emerged the suspect who shot a policeman in South London was handcuffed at the back when the incident occurred.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct says shots were fired as officers prepared to search the 23-year-old man using a metal detector. It says a firearm, believed to be a revolver, was recovered from the scene. The suspect is in a critical condition in hospital. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs with intent to supply, and on suspicion of possession of ammunition.
