Leaders of the environmental campaign group Extinction rebellion are facing fines of £10,000 over London protests last week.

One of the protests being considered is the ‘Lightship Greta procession – which made a stop in Surbiton.

The met says 20 people are being looked at for possible fixed penalty notices.

The fines would be levied under new coronavirus legislation, which outlaws more than 30 people gathering in an outdoor public place.
