Over 1,000 people in Surrey have signed a petition against making the County into a unitary authority


A white paper is due to be published this autumn, that will encourage scrapping district and borough councils.

Stoneleigh Residents Association Councillor Hannah Dalton is heading up a new campaign group against it.

She says that people’s level of representation could be at risk:
