People across Kingston and Richmond are calling for the use of e-scooters to be re-addressed in Parliament.
A year-long trial has begun to assess how the new mode of transport can be incorporated into current infrastructure designs.
Ministers hope they will help get people back to work without having to use public transport and also help cut carbon emissions.
But some listeners are voicing their concerns about the speed at which they travel, their use on pavements, and the fact they are silent.
Richmond Park MP Sarah Olney has issued a statement:
She says; “As we come out of lockdown, e-bikes and e-scooters could be a very low emission and efficient way for people to get around. I will be looking very closely at the results of the current trial to see how some of these concerns can be addressed."
