Protesters in Chiswick have once again stopped the council installing barriers in Staveley Road

The trial aims to reduce rat running and speeding.

Reports on Hounslow Council’s website say that people speed down the straight road, and it’s difficult for pedestrians to cross.

Councillor Hanif Khan says “It is not acceptable” to stop the trial and “this group does not represent the whole community”.

He adds “we will not be deterred” and asks the protesters to “step back” and give their “valued opinion” through the consultation.
