Side effects of medicines may be predicted before they hit the market, following research by Royal Holloway University in Egham.

They’ve developed an algorithm to predict them, using the same principle by which Netflix recommends films to users.

It’ll determine what sort of people will react to a drug, and the percentage who will have side effects after the first stage of human trials.

It’s hoped it will reduce mortality in healthcare.
