The MP for Chelsea and Fulham wants a new scheme to stop motorists using residential streets as shortcuts to be scrapped.
Hammersmith and Fulham Council's 'SW6 Traffic Reduction Scheme' aims to stop so called ‘rat-runners’ traversing the area between Wandsworth Bridge Road and Imperial Road.
But Greg Hands thinks it’s creating other problems and is running a petition to get rid of it.
H&F Council say the scheme will reduce traffic overall and Wandsworth bridge being reduced to two lanes is causing the congestion.
The Labour-led council think the Conservative MP is on a political point-scoring exercise.
Councillor Ben Coleman says change isn’t easy, but it’s for the benefit of everyone who lives there.
