There are calls for people in Wandsworth to have permanent access to coronavirus testing

The Labour MPs in the area are writing to the Health Secretary, calling for high capacity and a permanent site in the area.

People in the area have reported driving 100 miles or paying £250 for a test, if they could get one at all.

They’re also highlighting the need for testing to prevent children missing school.

A Health Spokesperson says: “NHS Test and Trace is providing tests at an unprecedented scale - we are processing more than 200,000 a day on average over the last week – and we are targeting testing capacity at the areas that need it most. More than 1 in 10 people in England have been tested at least once since the service launched.”
