A motorist has been reported for court after being clocked travelling at 106 miles an hour along the A3 at Ripley.
Police pulled over the Mercedes, only to discover the driver was uninsured and the tread on one of the tyres measured just 0,8 millimetres.
Surrey police say the vehicle has been impounded.
