A pilot scheme in five London boroughs, including Sutton and Croydon, will ensure specialised officers investigate all cases.
Over the last three years, it’s believed there’s been 56,000 attacks on health staff.
Another part of the scheme will see NHS “staff satisfaction” ratings for each crime reported to police.
