Could consciousness be energy in the brain?

That’s what a researcher at the University of Surrey is suggesting.

When you move or think, the brain uses electricity to send messages through the nerves, plus a little energy.

This energy has always been dismissed as unrelated to the brain’s work.

However, Professor McFadden says this could be behind free will, a scientific version of the soul.

The theory explains why computers haven’t showed consciousness, despite their high power.
