Firefighters have rescued a woman from a fire at a flat in Surbiton.

Part of a four-roomed flat on the first floor of the building in South Bank was damaged by the blaze.

She was taken to hospital where her condition is unknown at this time.

The Brigade was called at 4pm and the fire was under control by 5.15pm.
