It’s believed a fire in Heston yesterday was caused by the “self-heating of tea towels that had been contaminated with oils”

One unit at Heston Industrial Mall, which was used for laundry, was destroyed by the blaze yesterday morning.

When some materials are cleaned, put into tumble dryers, then folded and stacked, the heat from the tumble drying cannot escape.

There were no reports of any injuries in the fire.
