The council says as result of a poor roof it would be best to knock down the existing swimming pool and leisure site and build a brand-new centre.
The Green party say the borough’s residents could be without a swimming pool for at least five years if not ten.
They argue the council’s priority should be to fix the roof instead going into a massive private sector redevelopment.
Meanwhile Kingston Councillor Caroline Kerr says ‘it’s better to invest in the future of Kingston, and provide a new centre that will form a core part of our vision for the town centre.’
