Borough wide Bonfire Night and Diwali events have been cancelled because of Covid-19.
The Council is now specifically asking people hosting private gatherings to refrain from lighting a bonfire.
Bosses say a BBQ is a good alternative for the environment and hedgehogs, and firework safety rules must be adhered to.
