That’s according to a report into Avalon Ward at St George’s by the Care Quality Commission.
It also found that staff had only contacted the catering contractor on one occasion about meal issues.
However, it also found that most staff treated patients with compassion and kindness, and had suitable infection controls.
St George’s says:
“We are committed to providing safe and supportive care for all our service users and welcome the CQC’s report into our eating disorders services.
“We are aware of the concerns that have been raised and have been working with our staff and service users to make improvements and address the issues. We also have robust action plans in place to address any outstanding issues and ensure improvements continue.”
