A £3.2m budget deficit is threatening the jobs of 180 staff on the back of a series of voluntary redundancies in May.
A petition against the cuts has already reached 1,000 signatures.
The staff trade union, the UCU, believes the move is all about restructuring and not financial difficulties due to the pandemic.
