Sutton’s ambulance staff have been assaulted 30 times over the last year.

Council leader Ruth Dombey is calling the figures “utterly unacceptable.”

The 30 assaults, from August 2019 to August this year, include 11 physical blows and 4 incidents of grabbing or touching.

They relate to London Ambulance Service staff based out of Sutton’s two stations.

Potential legislation on tougher sentences is not expected to be brought forward until sometime next year.
