Teddington’s lifeboat crew have revealed that mental health training is now part of their preparation for duty on the River Thames.

In a newspaper article the crew reveal how they’ve learned to listen and empathise with those whose mental health may have suffered.

Using a model developed at the Maudsley Hospital they’ve also learned how to handle their own mental health, especially after a difficult or traumatic rescue.
