TfL has secured a two-week extension of its bailout that was due to run out today.

The government will continue the terms of the current £1.6bn bailout package until the end of the month – roughly equivalent to £113m.

The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said, "The two-week extension will enable TfL to continue running safe, reliable and frequent transport services."

A spokesperson for the mayor said London transport was "more critical than ever as the capital enters tier 2 and with Covid cases on the rise".
