The inquest opens today into the deaths of the seven victims of the Croydon tram crash in November 2016

The tram overturned at the Sandilands junction, and is said to have been travelling at almost four times the speed limit.

Sixty-one others were injured, 19 of them seriously.

Coroner Sarah Ormond Walshe expects the inquest to last 12 weeks.
