The man alleged to have shot a police officer in Croydon is reportedly paralysed and may never be charged

The Sun reports that 23-year-old Louis De Zoysa suffered a stroke that left him brain damaged, and unlikely to recover.

Sergeant Matt Ratana was allegedly killed by De Zoysa in a custody suite last month, who then shot himself.

A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service says they “continue to assist the police following the tragic death of Sergeant Matt Ratana.”
