The police officer who was killed in Croydon is being nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards

54-year-old Sergeant Matt Ratana was head coach at East Grinstead Rugby Club, and was nominated by them.

The Unsung Hero award is for volunteers who made a positive impact in communities.

The club has launched a crowdfunding campaign in his honour to raise £15,000.
