UNISON has balloted its members for strike action after Surrey County Council proposed a wage cut for frontline care staff.

 Care workers are amongst the lowest paid council workers with average hourly earnings of £10.75.

Surrey County Council has withdrawn enhanced payments, introduced during the pandemic, for working weekends, late nights and bank holidays.
