There are calls for schools and colleges to close, as the country faces at least a month of lockdown

The National Education Union says it would be “self-defeating” not to, since they’re an “engine for transmission”.

A petition in favour of closing schools has over 150,000 signatures.

Streatham Labour MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy is supporting it, saying it would cause more lockdowns down the line if they remain open.
