A healthcare worker from Dorking has been awarded a British Empire medal in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.

 Emrys Owen is receiving the award for his service to veterans during Covid 19.

Owen has been working for the last 38 years with the charity Royal Star and Garter, who provide care for veterans and their partners living with a disability or dementia.
