That’s according to the engineers advising Hammersmith and Fulham Council.
They’ve made a plan, which includes inspecting all three remaining pedestals, not just the cracked one.
They’re also criticising the Department for Transport, calling into question the suggestion the bridge could be reopened “quickly and cheaply”.
A DfT spokesperson said:
“Once we receive the full report, we look forward to further discussions between our engineers. We are committed to ensuring Londoners can cross the river again as soon as it is safe to do so.”
