One in 18 secondary school pupils, and one in 23 primary children in London have coronavirus according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.

It comes as headteachers have asked parents to keep their children at home if possible after some schools were swamped with pupils.

More children whose parents are key workers are attending school during this lockdown than in the first.

Teacher Tapp figures suggests 35% of primary schools in England had at least 20% of pupils in class.

In March, only 1% of primaries had 20% of pupils.
