The leader of Kingston Council says she’s “urgently seeking clarity” about why the area’s schools are reopening.

The borough has a very high rate of COVID-19 cases.

Caroline Kerr says the decision about which schools will open “appears to be based on a limited window of time which doesn’t represent the true picture of infection risk”.

She adds they will support headteachers as they plan for the start of the school term.
