The Post Office in Kingston is to move to the Bentall Centre

The current branch on Eden Street will close on Saturday, as the area is to be redeveloped and its lease has expired.

The new branch will be operated by the same person

During the transfer, alternative branches include:

Richmond Road Post Office, 109 Richmond Road, Kingston, KT2 5BX

Hawks Road Post Office, 46 Hawks Road, Kingston, KT1 3EG

Surbiton Post Office 2-3 Victoria Road, Surbiton, KT6 4JU

The relocated Kingston Upon Thames branch will have the same operator.

There will be five Post Office serving positions at the relocated branch; three full-screened, and one open plan in a dedicated area of the store, plus a Post Office counter alongside the retail counter.

A Post Office spokesman said:

"Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community in the longer term and the relocation of Kingston Upon Thames Post Office will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers in the local community. We will soon be seeking feedback on the planned move in terms of access into and within the building."
