Four opposition MPs have written to the Chancellor calling for a “realistic long term funding settlement” for Hammersmith Bridge

The local grouping says that Hammersmith and Fulham’s total budget for this year is £141m, which is the minimum estimate for repair costs.

They claim this means the council cannot cover the one-third share they’re asked to.

They also say that due to the difficulties of using the buses on diversion, it’s lead to an increase in car usage.

Talks are ongoing over the funding agreement.
