Twickenham’s MP Munira Wilson wrote to the Mayor of London, asking that Mortlake crematorium and Townmead Recycling Centre be exempt from the zone.
She expressed concerns that it would lead to an increase in fly-tipping, and it’s “morally wrong” to charge access to a crematorium.
It’s due to come in on Monday and will mean some higher polluting vehicles will have to pay extra., in an effort to discourage their use.
