Work to make Battersea Bridge safer following the death of a jogger begins today

Transport for London brought the start date for the works forward after Jack Ryan was in a collision with a car in January.

More than 25,000 people signed a petition to improve safety for those trying to cross at the north side of the bridge after he was killed.

Work will include a new signalised pedestrian crossing and a reduction in speed limit from 30mph to 20mph.
