33-year-old Homayon Ahmadi appeared at Croydon Crown Court on Wednesday 26th January and also pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault.
In April 2021, a 41-year-old woman called police to say she had been travelling by cab earlier that evening and that during the journey, the driver pulled over and raped her.
An investigation was immediately launched and extensive enquiries took place in an attempt to identify the suspect and the vehicle.
He will be sentenced at the same court on Thursday, 3 March.
