Planes had to abort their take offs at Heathrow last summer after it was found they were infested with insects.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch says wasp and bee nests blocked speed-measuring probes on British Airways and Virgin Atlantic jets over three weeks.

Two flights were stopped while speeding down runways as the blockages caused inaccurate speed readings.

Investigators say more could happen this year.
