There’s some victory for “mucky Merton” campaigners, as the council has told the street cleaning company that services it that it needs to improve.
The council says there have been “significant and ongoing
concerns”.
Veolia has ten days to respond to the issues with an action
plan and a timetable for improvement.
Croydon Council has also issued a warning following similar concerns.
A spokesperson for Veolia has told us today:
"We were disappointed to receive the Service Improvement Notice from some
of our SLWP partners. We will be responding in line with contractual
requirements."
