One of the world’s first Omicron-specific COVID-19 vaccines is being trialled at St George’s in Tooting.

Half of the 100 volunteers will receive a Moderna Omicron variant jab and the other half, the standard Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

The trial is the first commercially sponsored Moderna vaccine to take place in the UK.

It’s also one of the first studies globally to be assessing the effectiveness of a fourth COVID-19 dose.
