There are calls for Teddington Police station to be retained for affordable housing as it’s put up for sale.

Twickenham’s MP, Munira Wilson, and the leader of the council, Gareth Roberts, have written to the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.

They say if it cannot be saved as a working police station, it should be turned into homes and a doctors’ surgery.

Around 100 police stations with front counters closed in London between 2012 and 2017, as part of cost-cutting measures.
