A man has been taken to hospital following a fire in Kingston.

Crews were called just before 8.30 this morning to Gordon Road.

The fire started in the kitchen, and the man managed to get into the garden, where the brigade gave him oxygen until paramedics arrived.

The cause is under investigation.
