Cataract surgery has been carried out on more than 1,000 extra patients across South West London and Surrey.

Epsom Hospital is being used by the NHS for people needing cataracts operations, which do not require overnight stays. 

Health bosses say it has proved so successful that waiting times are now on track to return to normal levels pre-COVID.
