Officers were called to an address in Pennington Drive just before 3am after a blue Land Rover Discovery was spotted ablaze.
The fire spread to another vehicle and to the house but no-one was injured.
A male suspect in dark clothing is reported to have used an object to smash the window of the vehicle.
He
is then believed to have cycled to Castle Road where he placed his bike in the
back of a black estate vehicle before being driven away.
