Kingston’s Council leader says the authority is working to reduce its housing target set out in the London Plan

Andreas Kirsch says he wants to get the 964 homes per year quota set by Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, down. 

Mr Kirsch says the council’s responsibility is to the 3,000 people who are currently on its social housing waiting list. 

But he says this comes into conflict with some developers wanting to build in the borough.
