Mayor Elaine Gill has been visiting schools in the borough, and has worked with students to plant 52 so far.
The campaign started in a bid to save 3,500 oak saplings, which were rescued and nurtured in the Mayor’s back garden.
She says “we have a unique opportunity to make Runnymede greener for years to come”.
