The UK programme involves planting 80 oak saplings in locations with significant meaning for Jewish refugees and Holocaust survivors.
Kingston's oak was planted in memory of Erna Winter, who set up a café in London which became a meeting place for many refugees from Central Europe.
Winter’s family continue to live in Thames Ditton.
