At 11pm on Saturday, the victim was in Ockham Lane Boldermere car park in his black Citreon Rally van when he heard two bangs.
He got out the car to move to the driver’s side and was shot in the eye with a pellet.
Currently unable to see out of his right eye, he’s being treated in hospital with no guarantee his sight will return.
If you were in the area at the time or witnessed anything, police are urging you to contact them on 101.
