A nurse who leads thousands of other nurses at St George’s, Epsom and St Helier hospitals has been awarded an MBE

Arlene Wellman is the Group Chief Nurse, and has been in the profession for 26 years.

She says she “had known from an early age” that she wanted to help people, and she’s “so humbled” to receive the honour.
