A permanent director of legal services has been appointed at Croydon Council as the authority prepares to adopt a new mayoral model.

Stephen Lawrence-Orumwense is set to join later this year. 

He has vast experience in local government legal and monitoring roles, having worked at Haringey Council for the past decade.

He will help guide preparations for the significant changes to Croydon’s governance arrangements.
